01. ¿When, how, and why did we start?
We started in ​​architecture and construction. We were hiring external services to supply our carpentry needs, but we wanted to improve our quality and punctuality, so we opted to set up a small workshop to meet our own needs. Its founder began by crafting the kitchen, bathroom and closet furniture for his own house: then he decided to offer his services to local builders and anyone else who requested it.
02. Our first clients and projects
The first client was Finlay Laboratories, who commissioned the manufacturing the furniture for its reception. The first major project was the manufacturing of doors and closets for a 12-level apartment building, which was built by the construction company, Omar Abufele. We concluded the work on time and our greatest profit was experience. Then, a Canadian-born manufacturer of doors and windows appeared on our path, who took an interest in our work and helped us to understand the scientific side of the field. He extended an invitation for us to visit his factories in Canada, where he explained the processes, step by step, from the reception of the wood, its proper cutting and handling, drying and its transformation to a usable product. It was an enriching experience that opened the doors of knowledge in the subject and that still keeps us on that inexhaustible and immense path of learning.
03. Our first clients abroad
Our first client abroad was a wood flooring distribution company in Miami; They requested various products for residences located in high-end residential areas such as Coco Plum, Weston, etc. They also got us in touch with Windjamer Landing, a resort located near the city of Castries, St. Lucia, for whom we made doors, windows, and trim, all finished in white polyurethane lacquer.
We have always taken on projects with the goal of giving our best, with dedication, responsibility and honesty. Our team is instructed to carry out the works with Perfection as a goal, we know very well that we will hardly achieve it, but in its pursuit we will have to achieve excellence.

After 30 years, we have grown into a company with sufficient operational and installed capacity, ready to take on any challenge that demands quality products, covering projects of any type and size.
06. What type of products do we offer?
We offer any product derived from fine wood, we produce all kinds of: moldings, doors, windows, kitchen furniture, bathroom furniture, stairs, rails and railings, floors, ceilings, pergolas, office furniture, libraries, garden bridges, kiosks , Domes, ... We are available to architects, decorators, real estate entrepreneurs, and developers.
We produce what the client asks us for, custom made. The client provides us with the blueprints and their ideas and we prepare the workshop drawings for their approval prior to the execution of the work.
07. No matter the size of the project, whether big or small, we adapt to you.
For wood to have its adequate transformation, it is necessary to have a degree of humidity not greater than 11%, which is on average the ambient humidity. For that, it is necessary to subject it to a drying process using properly built ovens for this purpose, where the air flow, water application, and temperature are controlled. It is a progressive process that takes an average of two weeks. The wood enters with an initial humidity of => 50%, and through the process, it is reduced to 8%. If the wood is worked without having undergone a drying process such as the one described, there is a high risk of obtaining low quality products that will crack or deform, which may become useless in a short time.

09. What types of wood do we use and what criteria must it meet?
The products made by ÁBACO are made with precious Honduran woods, highly resistant to termites, duly classified and properly treated. From its initial phase to its final finish, using the best techniques in transformation, the best materials in its completion, and a careful handling to ensure that the goods arrive in optimal conditions to their final destination. In addition to an excellent product, our customers demand deliveries with specific timelines, so our efforts are oriented to be efficient in fast processes without compromising the required quality.
